Korg Kross 2-88 is a mobile synthesizer workstation with an 88-key, velocity-sensitive, natural-weighted, hammer-action keyboard. Combining a synth, sequencer, sampler, recorder, and audio interface in one compact and lightweight unit, it provides musicians and composers alike with the tools for writing and recording original music, or performing as a "one-man band" or in a group.
The Kross 2-88 offers 1000+ preset sounds, 120 voices of polyphony, 134 effects, and 128MB of built-in expansion PCM memory for optional sound libraries as they become available. The workstation is equipped with a sampling function that provides 16 playable pads for triggering samples or full audio tracks.
For production applications, the Kross 2-88 comes with a 16-track MIDI sequencer, a step sequencer, an arpeggiator, and a drum track. A stereo audio recorder enables you to record your performance or overdub an external input source, such as vocals, directly to an SD card (available separately).
The workstation features a user-friendly layout with real-time controls that let you easily access desired sounds and functions on the fly. You can quickly store and recall your favorite programs and combinations, and layers/splits are simple to set up thanks to a dedicated button.
In addition to USB MIDI interface functionality, the USB audio interface enables you to connect the Kross 2-88 to your Mac or Windows computer to take advantage of DAW recording. You can also use the instrument for playing in conjunction with your iPad or iPhone. The keyboard is powered by either six AA batteries or the included AC adapter.
