VINTAGE Teisco Checkmate 480 Guitar Combo Amp (Full Recap)
This vintage Teisco Checkmate 480 is an unusually clean survivor with the funky character and straightforward appeal that make old Japanese amps so much fun. Better still, this one has already had the important age-related electronic service handled, so it is set up to be enjoyed rather than treated like a restoration project.
Key Features
-
Vintage Teisco construction gives the amp the distinctive look, feel, and personality associated with Japanese gear from the era.
-
Fully serviced electronics include all-new electrolytic capacitors to address one of the most common age-related failure points in vintage amplifiers.
-
New input transistors have also been installed as part of the service for dependable and quiet operation.
-
Original manual included is a great period-correct extra and particularly unusual to find with an amp of this age.
-
Exceptionally clean presentation makes this a standout example compared with the heavily worn condition of many surviving vintage amps.
Condition
B+ condition and remarkably clean for an amplifier roughly 50 years old, with only light age-related cosmetic wear. The amp has been fully serviced with new electrolytic capacitors and input transistors and is functioning properly. The original manual is included.
A particularly cool vintage amp for the player or collector who wants real Teisco character without inheriting decades of deferred electronic maintenance.
Cool gear at a great price, backed by our meticulous care.
